Success and error pages

Hi General,
I hope you can help me with this one.
Can you please tell me exactly where in file manager the success and error pages should be placed?
I had them in Public_html but then the contact, success page becomes listed on the internet.
I've now moved them to public_ftp and now I get a 404 error, page not found.

The success and error pages need to be in the public_html folder in order for them to work properly.
