I know I am probably asking a repeated question. I have a domain name. I want another domain name. Can't I put it as a subdomain name? I see people with all these urls that stand alone and I know they are not all domain names. They are subdomain names. So why do I ask? I want to be sure that I understand correctly. Shoot me. LOL

A subdomain and add-on domain are 2 different things. If the url stands alone, it isn't a subdomain, but could be an add-on domain. You can have both with voda, but a subdomain wouldn't have it's own url and wouldn't be easy to optimize, if at all. SE's don't see it the same. An add-on domain is simply that for your hosting package, but is seen the same as the main domain by everyone on the net including se's. -

You have to buy the url for the add on domain - but you don't pay any extra to host it.Comment
