Change name servers, w/o transferring Domain

OK, I'm at a total loss here. I will explain what I've done, and ask your assistance once again....
    1. opened acct W/ Microsoft web hosting, registered DN w/ MIT.
    2. hated MS building tools
    3. canceled acct. w/ MS, switched to BV and opened VH acct.
    4. built a website I'm dying to see online.
    5. understood (from a forum member) I could switch names servers from MS to VH, and get up and running. Got new NS info from VH.
    6. got new reg. key from MIT, went onsite and attempted to change name servers. MIT says it cannot be redelegated. Refused change.
    7. MIT dumps it on MS, MS dumps it on MIT.
    8. MIT has apparently decided I'm stupid, as they seem to be ignoring me.
    9. This is WAY too much brain damage.
Any ideas/advice would be tremendously appreciated!

Why such bad treatment from MIT? The domain name is your legal property,
if you have your bills all paid up, they have no legal right to deny your change
    of nameservers or transfer request.

And, you should have someplace in your account with them where you can go and simply make the change to the nameservers.

You do own the domain name, right?

Yes! I don't know what is going on! I can get to the renaming plage, I type it in...and nothing. It says "Cannot redelegate". (it is NOT locked, checked that too)
Additionally, I understood that if I canceled MS, I would have to pay for the DN. Fine, so after cancelling, I went in to MIT and tried to pay, included 7.50 fee for privacy. They took the 7.50, and said I was already up to date until '09! So they didn't take the rest. (At least, they said they didn't...) They are not answering my HELP PLEASE email, and the last time I sent an email to them, they sent it to MS and never responded to me. MS cannot get their heads around the fact that I am NOT trying to move my Domain (I know I have to wait 60 days) but only trying to change the name servers. They just keep telling me I have to wait 60 days. It's like noone is really READING the email I sent! This IS possible to do, is it not???? Leave the Domain the same, change name servers over to VH and publish?

Yes, and it should be easy - sorry you are having so much trouble. The name servers should change when you put in the new information. It can take a day or two - but I don't understand the "cannot redelegate" - there must be something that's not working right - and hopefully you can reach someone there - maybe tomorrow will be better.

Re: Change name servers, w/o transferring Domain

Finally just called Australia...twice...anyway, I'm up and running now. Published!!!!!!! And trying to work thru a whole new set of problems! Like continuously saving my Home page with it's edits, saving under different names...and it still comes up without the corrections I made, and can't go back to it from the other navigators without getting a "page cannot be found". Also just discovered I will have to learn a little html to get my Flash working...and then there's the web pages that are loading WAY too slowly, even after resizing w/ pix....
Glad I didn't know what I was getting into when I started!
If you can help w/ any of this, it would be incredibly appreciated.
Take a look if you like, any advice would be warmly welcomed!
            Thanks to you both!

Listen To Your General...And life will be better!

The biggest mistake most newbie’s make is that they try to build a website with out first learning how to properly use the software, this is the reason you are getting errors and page can not be found notices…..My advice is to stop building your site, and open up a few test pages and practice adding and removing text, images and objects, creating hyperlinks between the test pages, publishing and editing the test pages. And resizing your images so that your pages will load faster.

Mastering the BlueVoda website builder should take no more than a few hours, but it is something you have got to do, Also make sure you watch all the tutorials twice. By learning in a test environment, you will take the pressure off of your self and will be able to see what works and what does not, in a stress free setting…
