    Parked domain & search problem

I have a few parked domains added to the original domain website url: www.thai-land-house.com ...the problem or question I have is:
When I type "thai house plans" in the yahoo search bar, my site comes up all right at #1 but the url shows one of my parked domains and not the main site url. I have no idea why this happens or how I can fix this. Any pointers or remedies would be greatly appreciated.

Was that domain previously a website that would have been optimized for those words? If so, thank your lucky stars and forward that domain to the new one - and take all the traffic you can get from it. That's one reason people buy some domain names that already have a track record.

Actually, in looking at it - it appears you've published your index page to this site - and it's now #1 at yahoo. You might not want to change it :)

      Hi Beth,
      thanks for quick reply.
For quite some time it's been at #1 although it was shown as www.thai-land-house.com
this site was published long before i parked the other one(s) and the only keywords i used were for thailandhouse

also, I know this is on a different subject but In trying to re-publish the site after making some changes it won't take. I get the "successfully published" popup but when i go to the site it doesn't reflect any changes.
I read the close thread about the new IP and BV update so i did update and put the new IP in to publish and it doesn't recognize my name and/or password anymore...??????

thanks again for all your help. (I haven't forgotten the marqueritas)

Re: Parked domain & search problem

Well, as I said, you've published to the other domain - don't know how long ago - so you must have it as an add-on domain.

When you publish - what do you have as where it's publishing to - does it just say public_html - or is there anything else in there?

And is this other site an add-on thai-land-house or vice versa?

Re: Parked domain & search problem

I don't have and never have had any add-on domains, only parked domains. When I publish in BV it is public_html

When I first signed up and made the account, it was thai-land-house.com, then some months later I "parked" a few more domains, transfering them to vodahost.

Problem#2: I am on voda6...it appears the IP is the same,i.e., it hasn't changed from 70.86.134.194, it accepts my name & password and takes approx. 10-15 minutes to re-publish then I get the "successfully published" sign but none of the changes are visable when i go to the site.

          Now I'm really confused...

Re: Parked domain & search problem

voda 6 IS completely changed over to the new server. You need to use the new server with your same id and password. Even though you might be getting there on the old, it won't register anymore.

Somehow you have to have directed something to the other domain - or it wouldn't be showing your home page when I type in the other domain name - and it does. Something was done in parking the domain - you need to look into that. If it's simply "parked" it shouldn't show any website on it.

Re: Parked domain & search problem

how or where do i find info for the new server? (ok, I found the link on the forum and am now attempting to re-publish) I had no idea about this???
doesn't vodahost send an email when they do this? how is anyone to know?

the main problem I'm stumped on. no directs, no add-ons, only parked domains..???
also, I asked this question before on the forum and ***** replied that all parked domains are directed to the main site. (at least, that's what I think he said, will have to take another look)

Re: Parked domain & search problem

ok. finally, successful in republishing with the new IP

one down, one to go...I haven't a clue about the re-directs or why my parked domains are showing up on the search page or why my homepage of thai-land-house.com appears when typing in any of the parked domains. ......but I do appreciate your help.
