Addon Domain Purchase

I've read the sticky about getting an addon domain. I can't get past the first line. It says to buy a new domain, but when I attempt to buy one, the website won't let me, I get an error notice saying 'that email address is already in use'. Well, of course it is, it's an addon domain. What am I doing wrong?

I think there is somthing you check that it is a stand alone domain and not part of a package. I just did this a few days ago as well. I remember I had to back out of it and purchase it another way because it was trying to sell me the package I already had instead of just the domain.

During the purchase process, click the box that says you are a returning customer.
