domain name transfers

Hi Vodahost,
i am new to this forum and am trying to get it to work. i am trying to set up a website for our organisation. i have downloaded bluevoda and working through that. we have a domain name registered with telstra-clear new zealand and we pay a monthly fee for that even though we are not using it yet. would the free domain name transfers mean i could transfer this domain name to vodahost and pay only $7.95/month? the domain is bas.org.nz and i was unsure also whether you can transfer a domain name with .nz at the end. can you please clarify these points for me by getting back to me?

Hi Rebecca .. the domain with the extension .nz is not eligible for transfer to Voda Host, so instead you continue to maintain your domain name at your current registrar (you normally pay annually for your domain name as well as, pay annually for your hosting account, although for Voda Hosting you can also pay monthly for hosting) and you can have the name servers for this domain pointed to your two VH servers when you receive your VH account. You can have an unlimited amount of domains in your one VH account. In fact when you open your account you can choose a free domain name in the process. In any case, the usual purchase of a domain name is for a year or more term, perhaps you are meaning something else when you mention paying for your domain monthly and not using it yet?? If you purchased your domain name, it should be yours.
