Domain and Sub-domain Issues

Hi! I'm wondering if you could help me, please. I've had a look around and can't quite find what I'm looking for. My Bluevoda/Vodahost username is zqdescyj and my IP address is 74.86.118.24. I'm so sorry to bother you but I'm getting so muddled up about what to do.

I'm using the domain www.endymiondreams.co.uk (I own several domains from an external company) and have recently created a number of subdomains in my control panel, one of which is entitled "paradox", all in lower case. I've been fighting with this for several days now and I'm at a total loss as to how to publish it under its own domain name.

The Paradox site already has its own domain, I hasten to add, but I'm trying link the subdomain to that with no success as yet. I don't quite know what I'm doing wrong. How do I lay the address out to make sure the domain can redirect and mask it?

Is it:
http://www.paradox.endymiondreams.co.uk.html
or maybe:
http://74.86.118.24/~zqdescyj/paradox.index.html ?

Also, if possible, could you advise me on how to create and link to an add-on domain as opposed to a sub-domain, please? I did create an add-on domain but I couldn't understand how to work it so I deleted it for the time being. Can there be more than one add-on domain per account, if that makes things easier?

*lol* You may have to type slowly and clearly, in large type, I think I'm a bit slow on this whole web-publishing lark. Hehe.

Lets start with the fact that you have 1 account
....www.endymiondreams.co.uk
which you publish to your public_html directory.
.
If you now want The Paradox site to stand on its own
you use the addon domain facility in your cpanel.

This will then create a subdirectory within your public_html directory.

To publish to Paradox: use public_html/paradox

When you create your addon or any subdomain you may have to wait up to 72 hours for it to perculate around the w.w.w.

Paradox is to be part of a webring of interrelated but separate sites, so a subdomain should be okay for that. The add-on domain was for a different, unrelated site so that will take more getting used to, methinks.

Hmm, now I'm not sure if this is normal and will straighten itself out in the 72 hours you mentioned before. I've tried linking the subdomain to the domain name I own for Paradox.

In the address section of the domain redirect/masked i've put in the following address, which shows the page above... is this wrong?

http://74.86.118.24/~zqdescyj/public_html/paradox.endmyiondreams.co.uk

It seems wrong, but I'm a novice at this. I'm sorry to keep bugging you.

Oh, wait! Do i need to include the index page link somewhere? If so, could you please tell me where?

How long ago did you open this account?
It would seem that you have a temporary address at the moment until your main domain is active.

To link a subdomain to another site(ie. paradox) just use a text link.

My account itself has been open for... a good few months. I've only been paying for the domain for about a month or so, I think, though - maybe not even that. Could that be why I'm struggling to publish?

My Endymion Dreams site works okay so I assumed the main domain was active.

Could you redefine your main problem as I am not sure exactly what you are asking.

to publish to the subdomain named paradox you use:

Well, I'm trying to link the Paradox subdomain to open in the www.paradoxworld.org domain I already own.

To publish it as a separate site from Endymion Dreams, so to speak.
I think thats the easiest way to describe it - a little simplistically, perhaps.

Paradox has been active for a long time with Telivo. I recently repurchased to domain so its been active and working fine while hosting the original version of the site for more than a year now. Given a little time, it does eventually let me link it back to the original version of the site so it seems to be working in that respect.

I've tried linking only to the address you said and still get the same message:

Will it take time to recognise the subdomain, perhaps? I omitted the " /index.html " at first and saw no change in the page it brings up.
