  • transferring domain vs. just pointing domain

I've been reading on this forum about transferring a domain purchased elsewhere to BV or just pointing the domain purchased elsewhere to the BV servers. Is there an advantage using one method over the other? It seems that just pointing a domain purchased elswhere to BV does not cost anything whereas transferring a domain to BV does cost. Is this correct?

    Thanks for your input.

Re: transferring domain vs. just pointing domain

There is a small charge for a domain transfer from an existing domain registrar to voda host as your new domain registrar. Not all domains are eligible for transfer and you should read DOMAIN TRANSFERS under that thread in this support forum if you are wondering if your domain qualifies. This would be why some opt for their domains to reside at other domain registrars.

An advantage to transferring your domain to voda host is the fact that your domain, as well as your hosting, is all under one umbrella .. you need only pay your registration fee yearly to one, as opposed to separate bills, many people find this easier, more understandable and need never have to worry about what they have where and with who .. it's all under one roof ..

    Hope this helps.

P.S. All new voda host hosting account that are opened are eligible for either one free domain name or one free domain transfer with registration.
