Domain availability

I purchased domain name www.ufodomain.com this past weekend, I checked it for availability with the VH Domain check engine and it showed that it was available, after I made the purchase and set up the addon domain as www.ufodomain.animekaji.com . I put www.ufodomain.com on my browser and I got an advertising site. My question is why didn't the domain checker show ufodomain.com as unavailable???

This is your domain alright. The screen you see is the standard screen that comes up from Vodahost domains because you have not yet set the nameservers to point at your main account servers. Also, when you set up addon domains, you do this in your CP and simply declare the new domain and the folder (which doen't need to exist, it is created automaticaly). Go in your Vodahost domain account and change the name servers. Then, if you have your new domain setup as subdomain and not as Addon domain, simply delete the subdomain, and add it as addon domain.

I put it on addon but it is in subdomain to, these servers are confusing. my freebe site,www.animekaji.com is on server 4 is that the server that the new domain is supposed to go in or do I get in another server ??? I watched the addon tutorial and did what it said. I figured it was messed up when I had to use animekaji.com with the new site but if I did what the tutorial said why is it messed up ??? So confused, I need sleep. Please help me. I'll get up in a while and do what you tell me.

yes you have to point the servers at ns5.vodahost.com and ns6.vodahost.com . If you have added it as an Addon domain, then it normal that it appears as a subdomain also. However, when the DS propagation will be complete, then your new site will be accessible directly as www.ufodomain.com. When you publish, you must publish in "public_html/ufodomain"

I tryed what you said but it did the same thing. using the addon domain just buts the 2 sites together as www.ufodomain.animekaji.com I simply don't have a clue of what I'm doing.

the probelm is that you didn't change the name server(dns)for your domain yet, look here, you have to change it and pointed to the same DNS as your main domain (ns5/ns6 vodahost)
