New index page but links to old website !!??

it's been 20 hours since I changed the name servers at WhoIs to Vodahost ..
now new index page shows up but links are all dead or still go to old website
on Earthlink.net. Do I need to just be patient or is there something wrong ?

I have temporary index up for now because I do not want screwed up site
    to be visible.

any help would be most appreciated

There should be no problem. Your new index page is on the voda37 nameserver, and that means any other pages you publish will work. Be sure to check the links to confirm they are indeed the new pages you've published on Voda.

noticed some of the links were .htm instead of .html

I thought these extensions were interchangeable but I guess not because .htm takes me to the old website pages.

It is important to be precise in all aspects when designing websites, following strict WWW and computer protocols, just as detailed in the Tutorials ....
