Using redirect with a different website

We have a website that people are having a hard time finding - www.briggs-and-briggs.com. The hypens are tripping people up. We want to pick another, easier domain name, that references our product, and redirect them to our site from there. We don't want to change the main domain because of the investment in business materials/advertising. We sell a product that has been around for a long time and is considered collectible, so lots of people just search google for the name of that product.
From what I've read in cPanel and the forums on domains, I would need to buy a new domain, but would I also need to pay the webhost charge if it is only used as a redirect? Or is there an easier way to accomplish this?

Easier? yes ... FORWARD the new "promotable" domain to your pre-existing one.

Forwarding, however, eliminates any intrinsic SE values for the domain, since it is merely re-directing organic traffic, and incapable of keeping statistics since it is not associated with any hosting ...

I have set up 2 new domains to point to my main domain. Is 'forwarding' considered as an add-on, or a redirect in cPanel? I did not set up hosting - I merely want people to automatically be directed to the main site and do not need to do any tracking.

You can Forward a Domain either at the Registrar or at the hosting level, but re-directs are usually implemented from an existing (hosted) site or page to another. Thus, Forwarding is recommended.
