Default domain versus addon domain

Getting horribly confused now. I have registered VodaHost with my default website iceinflatables.co.uk, but dont want to upload this until I have worked out what I am doing so thought I would upload another website indoorcarboot.co.uk to get the hang of things. I have successfully uploaded indoor... but should I have actually setup an addon for indoor.... If so can I still use BlueVoda to upload this as an addon? Cant find any tutorials about addons?
