Setting up mail for MacMail 3.4

Hello all,

I don't see much information on setting up mail accounts for the ***** Mail program (my version is 3.4).

I am trying to set it up, and not having much luck.

Also...I've seen two variations of what is required as a login:

name+server.com
and
name@server.com

Are these interchangeable, or is it really asking me to enter one in one place and another in another place? Thanks.
