Modifying MX Help Required

Ok, I have never had to do this so I want to ensure I get this right.

I have a client whom I have to change the MX for their emails.

I have been given an ip address 85.13.243.2 so can I just put that IP number into the destination field and then that's it?

If it's the one I think you meant to show me then yes I have, and it didn't help unfortunately, but no worries, I have entered the IP in and let's see what happens!
