Re: WebMail - Contact Form - Not receiving emails

Thanks Karen. I used the built in one from the options list and just added a comments box. In the properties box I just accepted the success and error boxes that were already there (default ones I suppose). I assume that was ok? I don't know what you mean by linking them though. I just ok'd everything on the properties page. My email address is correct.

I have read this forum but never read a solution for the first poster. I too have included a form (contact us) in place of my guestbook and tried a few test and did not recieve an e mail. All the settings are just as the video tutorial shows it. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm afraid that you have not followed tutorials correctly.
        1. Your contact page is published as .html instead of the correct .php .
        2. Then you also have guestbook.php
        2. Why did you set the action of the form to be guestbook.php ? Did you add there the built in form processor?

It isn't quite normal to use a page named "guestbook" for a contact page, especially if, before, you had actually uploaded guestbook.

Re: WebMail - Contact Form - Not receiving emails

I have re-published as a .php. I have changed the name to /contactus.php. It used to be a guestbook page but I received so much spam I decided to use this form instead. I removed the processor page that the tutorial tells you to add for the guestbook. Then I tested it but still received no e mail from it. It seems that when I had a problem with the guest book that you signed it and it worked but when I did it myself it didnt work.

If you received the test submission i made, then your form is working, so there MUST be other issues, if you don't receive your own tests. First of all check your spam folder. If you are using an external email address, change it to one within your own domain.

Re: WebMail - Contact Form - Not receiving emails

I went to my control panel and discovered that it is being sent to my default webmail address. Here is the error message:
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

This means that when you SEND mail you must send it thru AOL so your stmp must be set to aol.com and you aol user and password is required.

Re: WebMail - Contact Form - Not receiving emails

Okk, this means that the for some reason your script sends the mail but the mail doesn't arrive to you.

What you received is the server error report, because the mail could not be delivered.

Check that the email address you have set, in the form wizard, is correct.

I also suggest that you use an email address within your own domain, which, of course, you must first setup and test for correct functionality.
