Is there a Spam Folder if I am NOT using Spam Assassin?

I have been using Squirrel Mail to interface with my Vodahost-hosted e-mail for two years. I have never set up Spam Assassin or any other Spam filters. I cannot see a Spam folder in Squirrel Mail, just Inbox, Draft, Sent and Trash.

My question is, does Vodahost have some form of default Spam filtering into a folder I cannot see or access? The reason for asking is that Microsoft insist they are sending me an e-mail about a support issue and tell me it must be going to my Spam folder if it is not reaching my Inbox. If I know Vodahost will only filter out Spam if I have set up Spam Assassin I can be confident there is some other issue but if Vodahost has some kind of default Spam filter in place I need to know where to access the e-mails concerned.
