Wow! After checking out all of the options offered on Fantastico, I must confess to being kind of overwhelmed by the selection. With 4 basic blog scripts and countless additional tools at my disposal, I'm not sure what I'll need. I am going to list what I want below and hopefully somebody can reccomend the best selection for a rank beginner like myself.
1. Simple template creation w/the ability to configure text font, color, size, location, and also to add an image from my files.
2. Relatively simple menu to begin with, but with option to add more as time goes on.
3. Reader response ability--I don't want to run a forum, per se, just give readers a chance to post their views.
4. The ability to create basic public opinion polls.
5. Ability to link to other sites.
6. Include "search the web" ability.
7. Create a "rollover" masthead date.
8. Archive all stories and posts into an orderly filing system that is searchable by myself and readers.
