    navigation bar problem

Hi everyone I would like your help if possible?

I had my site navigation bars working correctly ie when you placed the mouse on the button the alternative text shows "go to Black Page.
Since making changes and republishing only the web site address comes up.
I have tried correcting one of the pages and copying and pasting the navigation bars by all the different methods to the other pages then saving the page.
This works fine in preview then if I try to preview again all the alternative text disappears and the web address is back.
Is there another way to avoid typing the alternative text into each navigation bar?
    Thank you in anticipation

You should be able to copy and paste it with all the savings you have on it. Make sure you've saved it on the original page. Then use the copy icon on the bv page row of icons (NOT by right clicking or in the dropdown) - go to the new page and use the paste next to that icon.

It should paste it with all the attributes you gave it. Save the new page.

Thanks Bethers ,I have done all that and it worked at the first preview, then when I tried previewing again it had disappeared.
if I type the text in manually it stays there ok.

You keep talking about "preview" - they don't work the same in preview as they do published. And if it's there to begin with - it can't just disappear - I transfer all my nav bars this way when I make changes in them. The key is to make sure you save it.

          Hi again
I just preview them to make sure the alternative text is working,
Which it does but after I have closed that window and look at the attributes of the navigation bar the text is missing. The only page on the web site that has the text correct is the home page and it was off this page that I copied and pasted the other pages.

Again, did you save the page before you previewed it? And did you copy and paste from the icons - NOT from right clicking or from the edit button? but from the icons to do so in the top row of BV icons? If they are working when you first move them over and preview, it seems as if you are doing something that changes them - I just don't know what.

I did save the page but only as "save page" maybe I should "save page as" then the same page name.
              I did use the icons.
I think I will make the change manually then it is set in my pages .
              Thanks for the input.
