control panel

Please help I am totally new to this!! I cannot access the control panel! Each time I click into it a new page is opened and i have 'page cannot be displayed'
Also I am trying to have a photo gallery that only 1 photo displays at a time and when you click NEXT the photo fades to the next photo or blends into the next 1 if anyone knows what I mean!!
