Help with Outlook Express--Can't send

I can recieve email in outlook but I can't send. For some reason, I can't connect to the server. I've had it automatically configured and everything is set up right....has anyone ran into this issue before? I have heard that there have been issues with sbcglobal and 3rd party servers but give me a break this shouldn't be rocket science. Anyways around this? Thanks!
