ftp timeout

Hi fellow saavy webmasters,

Just a quick question. I am transferring large files over to my server and
I keep getting timeouts. In the settings in the bluevoda settings for ftp, it says there is a timeout in seconds, so I changed the time and added a ****TON***** of zeros to add time, but it still times out after a few minutes. Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. It would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Scott.

If you are only transferring as opposed to publishing then I would try an ftp program - somthing like Core FTP. It's free and very easy to use. I have been using it for a long time. It makes transferring larger files a doddle. You can find it here: http://www.coreftp.com/
