I was at a friends house the other day and was showing him my website. When he pulled it up the logo in the header was a different font than that of my design. Any reason why it does that?

Websites look different on different screens with different screen and resolution settings. Also make sure you only using web friendly fonts.

If you are talking about your header - I suggest that is where you should make an image for you header - then you can use any font you desire in it -
If your header is mainly text - go play at cooltext.com - and you can have lots of fun.
For the actual pages of your website, you do not want to use images - and you do want to use a web-friendly font.
