Old files showing on URL despite being deleted !!

We are starting a project for a Client to make a small site for them.

We published up a page with a gallery within it for approval onto a sub-domain of ours we had been trying out previous ideas on. We removed all the old files within the sub-domain using fantastico and directly using BV FTP. We then published up the demo page to that sub-domain. When one checks the FTP all it contains is all the details related to the new page.... Sofar so good...... When we checked the changes from our computer all was well, however when looked at from any other machine one just gets an Index page with all the old stuff that was on the site before is was delated.

When you check the page from our computer using http://121wholesale.com you also just get the old index page, but only from our machine when you put in www.121wholesale.com you get the new demo page.

Why is the old material still showing even though it is no longer on the server as seen on our FTP and how can we get rid of the old stuff when it should already be gone?

It is not a cashe issue on the other computers. To check if it were the F5 button has been pushed repeadly for no better result.

It looks like it is a server problem. Any ideas or help much appreciated.

We even deleted the subdomain and reinstalled it before publishing page but this didn't work either!

    Regards,

    Rob

Hi, I get the same on both links ( INDEX OF/) then a cople of folders with the only real web link going to Joomla! & a php info directory. Its like an index page has not been published on either.
Have you cleared the cache on your computers via tools menu ?
    Regards Chris.

      Hi,

      Cleared the cache.

What is most strange is that all thebfiles you see are completely delated from our FTP and tye Joomla site you see was also delated via fantastico and nothing shows within the 121wholesale directory within our FTP other than the new page which is not one of those on the Index page you see !!

Thanks for your comments and for looking Collectors-Info.

Havnt had much to do with sub domains. But! Wouldn’t the link that you have posted look a bit more like
www.subdomain.121wholesale.com As I say! Havnt had much to do with subs, so i may be wrong. Is there also a chance you have deleted the sub domain.
          Regards Chris.

            Hi Chris,

The URL of the sub-domain is correct. When seen as a subdomain in your control panel it shows you the main and sub-domain, but you just need to type in the sub-domains URL in a browser to access it.

Neither is it deleted. It has been re-installed and the new pages publised to it and they all show in the Public-Domain side of FTP Manager as you would expect.

That is what's so strange ?

            Perhaps it's a ghost !!

            Regards,

Re: Old files showing on URL despite being deleted !!

              Rob,

www.121wholesale.com points to the OLD v6 server which has been replaced 2 days ago (look at the updates section of the forum). Your new IP address is different, and there it is that you should publish your pages.
If you are deleting / publishing with the old IP address, the changes will not show.

Please connect with BlueFTP using the new IP address (you will need to download and install the latest BV version, to have the IP address in the dropdown) , delete old files (data is the one you had on your server 3 days ago) and then publish, in the new IP address, your new pages.

                Thanks Naval,

Your help was spot on and excellent as always.

New BV installed and now working on new server.

                Many thanks,
