Does anyone know how to make a faded image to go behind text? I use Paint.net if that helps. I haven't worked with masks before. Any help would be appreciated.

Right click on it and "move it to back"

      Re: faded image

I don't think that would fade it enough to put text on it. There are websites that have faded photos with text on them and it looks great. I want to know how to do this for one of my pages.

        Hi Scuba

Look for hue ... and play with that ... I am not sure if paint.net has that or not???

Thanks Ladyeye, I went into paint.net and photoshop and neither has hue. I tried to use a mask and that didn't do either. I know this possible to do. I hope I get my answer here.

            Re: faded image

If paint.net has an "opacity" option, that's what to use. You can send it to me and I will send back several "faded" versions for you.

              Scuba

What do you have for photoshop?? Carbon Terry has offered to create these for you, and I would have the same, but I have a feeling you are wanting to learn about this for doing many, or just the fact to learn. Is there a "lightness" feature in your photoshop? Is it adobe?
I looked in paint.net and I don't see anything in that program that would help you accomplish this.

There are a ton of free programs that can be found here

Have a look through and see if there is something found there that you could use. Anything that will lighten up your photo is what I think you are looking for ... perhaps.
