    How to mask url?

How can I mask or cloak a link that my visitor will not see the actual url?

    example:

    www.somebodysite.myid.com to www.mysits.com/ebook

So my visitor will see www.mysite.com/ebook

    Thank you for your help

    Meta Refresh & Redirect

    1) Open a note pad doc.

    2) Insert the below code.

    <META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="0;URL=http://www.vodahost.com">

    3) Replace the red vodahost.com with your target url.

    4) save it as a .html file

    5) upload it to the server.

Thia will trigger a "meta refresh", when any body visits your .html page, they
will be redirected to your target url.

        Re: How to mask url?

Hi, I have a more complex version of this question that I am grappling with.

I have a secure ebook that requires an access code to unlock certain pages. The payment processing system returns a 'success' page when the payment has been authorized. This page generates a unique access code for the ebook. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter whether this URL (or the one containing the script to generate the access code) is masked or not.

As soon as anyone enters the same 'success' page returned by the payment gateway, the page will display a new access code. For free!

Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening?

        Many thanks...

I believe that I am using the same program as you and am facing the exact same problem. I contacted the CSR Chat and was given no suggestions. Any Luck?

            Re: How to mask url?

I think I am misunderstanding the terminology here, as I have tried to follow these instructions & this is not achieving what I want.

For example, say I have 2 domains pointed at the Vodahost server where my account is hosted.

Call these www.play.com & www.work.com . My main domain is play and work is an add on domain.

work is published in a folder on my public directory called work.

using the addon domain tool in cpanel, www.work.com is redirected to http://play.com/work/index.html

Therefore, when someone types www.work.com into their browser they see the www.work.com home page.

However, the url displayed by their browser is http://play.com/work/index.html which is inappropriate for work.

How do I get a browser visiting www.work.com to display a url of www.work.com??

If you want to look at actual sites, work is www.talismandar.com and play is www.yachtlanovia.com

            Help greatly appreciated

Forget my post above. This issue was caused by my redirect, which I was using as a work around because of another problem which has now been resolved by support desk.

              Brilliant support from Hank.

              Thanks
