    Intranet question

I just noticed that my BV website now says Intranet, not Internet. I think I understand what Intranet is, but have no need for it.

How does it effect my exposure on the web? How do I change it to Internet?

    Re: Intranet question

I don't understand what you are asking about. Is it on one of your pages? Where does it say 'intranet'? Please be a little clearer and explain exactly what you're referring to.

      Re: Intranet question

I am sorry I was not very clear. At the bottom of each screen, where it shows http:// address, it also shows a world globe and the word Internet. Mine says Intranet which shows on each of my web pages.

I have figured out where to change it. If you place your cursor over the globe/internet it says Double Click to change security settings. I did that, changed the setting to Internet, clicked okay, and nothing changed. I also rebooted and nothing.

My questions is does it really matter? Am I getting the same exposure to the Internet? I have no need to use Intranet as I am a company of one.

Thanks for your help. I hope I made myself understood. It is difficult to explain when I know what I am talking about, I tend to leave out some of the more important details. LOL

        Re: Intranet question

I fixed it. Just did not go far enough in Tools. To change to Internet I went to Tools, Internet Options, Security, Local Intranet, Sites and removed my website name from list. It instantly changed from Intranet to Internet.

Thanks for taking your time to help me. I guess I just needed someone to talk it through with.
