    How to set the permissions?

    Hello,

    My domain name is MyFreeWord.com

I don't know how to SET permissions for folders.
Could someone tell me how to do it ? Or where to find info. about?

I got a software to put over the server. On installation, it says as following:

"-Set the permissions for the ‘data’ folder and all of the folders it contains to 777.

    - Set the permissions on all of the .cgi files to 755 except for config.cgi, set the permissions on that file to 777."

Thanks in advance for your help.

Log into your control panel, go to file manager, public html, and scroll around to the folder in question. If you click the name on the top right, you get several options, one being to change permissions. Click on that and you can put in or remove checkboxes to get to the desired permission you want to set.

Alternately you can use a ftp client and right click on folders and do the same.

In your Cpanel, you can click the name of a folder or file and you'll see a menu open to the right of the screen. One of the options is to change permissions. Click that and the rest is pretty simple.

I can't drink coffee - it makes me alert and that's something I simply can't tolerate.
