why can't I get ext on page

Hello All,
I want to create a new web page. I get to the Blue Voda page, I click on the "new page" icon, I click on "text" icon, but I get no cursor. I do get a plus sign, but when I click on text, nothing happens. Why can't I type text to create a new web page? That is, what steps do I need to take exactly to be able to create text? Thanks. Bill
