publishing question

Hopefully this question hasn't been asked recently, but: When I upload a file to public_html in cpanel and then go to my website, I see the actual list of files instead of a webpage. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you.

Are you uploading to public_html or publishing?
You need to publish your homepage as index, all lower case, and BV will place it in your public_html file.
You have to publish files to see them..
You publish, it will be online..
