Published index page

Hi my name is carol and I rebuilt the index page and published it. Now I can't find it. I can't figure out what I did wrong. I keep getting this message and I don't know what it means.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /home/ecnaamdg/public_html/index.php on line 1

Could someone please help me I am totally confused. Thank you in advance.

You probably forgot to publish it as php and change the properties of the page, or you called for a function incorrectly or that is no longer there or uploaded when u changed things around.

Hello Karen;

Thank you for the reply, I don't know what the problem was but I got it to work. I went and deleted the old page and started frow the very begining.It is not guite done yet, but I'll get it there. Again thank you.
