How to Insert Excel Files

I've tried to add some Excel files which I've saved on my desktop to my web page, specifically my Calendar page. I've done it as a file extension, as a gallery selection and as cut and paste. No matter what I've done - when I try to add it every which way and then preview it in the browser (or more succinctly - if I click on the hyperlink in my index page to take me to the Calendar Page) - I get the following message.

I don't get it - and neither did my support ticket get a sufficient answer.
