What's a good screen recorder?

I would like to apologize if I'm in the wrong forum to ask this, but Iv been wanting to make some video tutorials. However, I cannot seem to find any screen recorders.
Now what I mean by screen recorder, I mean as in recording your desktop screen, or what your seeing, kinda like that.

I also like Adobe Captivate 3 a lot. Quite expensive, but easy to edit. Generates small output file sizes. You can also try their 30-day trial.
