    Publishing Problem –

I’ve come across some problems creating my website. Having just started working with Blue Voda, I still can not publish my website. I have submitted 2 support tickets asking the company for help but have only received a rather cryptic reply (maybe I do not know the computer jargon).

As I stated in the tickets I submitted, I have gone through the following list of steps numerous times and my website is still not up and running. I’m only trying to post a simple home page stating that the site is under construction. Here are the steps I have undergone:

    1) Clicked the publish button on the upper toolbar (or file > publish)

    2) Changed the server IP address to the correct server.

    3) Entered my cPanel username.

    4) Entered my cPanel password.

    5) Left the public_html in the folder field.

    6) Hit publish.

    7) Prior to publishing, I labeled the file index (all in lowercase) as told

The first response I received from the company’s “tech support” mentioned how I should watch all of their tutorials. This wasn’t much help considering I have already gone through this process.

The second response merely told me to Duplicate closing.” I have know idea what this means or entails. Since I am completely new to navigating through this program, could someone give me a hand? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. At this point I’m questioning whether I should cancel my account.

    Thank you for your time.

Okay, let me see - you did the following:
made the page in the voda sitebuilder
    saved the page as index
    clicked publish
    checked the IP address
entered username and password given you in your welcome letter
    clicked publish

Now, did you get a message that said "successfully published"?

Hi, looks like you domains are pointing to the wrong servers.
      Name Server: NS5.IXWEBHOSTING.COM
      Name Server: NS6.IXWEBHOSTING.COM

Are you publishing to a VH server? If so you need to point the domain at the VH server you are on.

      Good luck.
      Regards Chris.

        Hi Liz,

        Thanks for your reply.

I'm sorry to say I followed everything you mentioned:

        1) Made the page in the voda sitebuilder
        2) Saved the page as index
        3) Clicked the publish button
        4) Included the correct IP address
        5) Entered the username and password I was given in my welcome letter
        6) Clicked publish
        7) Recieved a successfully published message
Checked the firewall configuration on my system to make sure this wasn't causing a problem

I'm not sure what else I can do to solve this problem.

Chris - Thanks for your feedback. I'm currently on hold with the company I purchased my domain name from to see what the issue is. As far as I knew everything had been unlocked and was in working order to start my account with Blue Voda. It looks like a step is missing. I'll see where things go. It looks as if I will be on hold for awhile....

Chris & Liz - Thanks for all of your help. I had encountered some problems with my past webhost. Thanks to your advise, ideally everything will be in working order by tomorrow. This being the second webhost I've worked with, I apologize for bothering you with a question I feel as if I should have been able to resolve. Have a good day.
