I am new to bluevoda and have got my site about 75% complete. Just need a little help with this password thing. I have submitted a ticket to fix it and it didn't work for me. I have read about 2 days of threads trying to find the answers. I have found them and tried them. But it is not working, I get my home page index list of files with the password form. I think I have my files in my file manager miss placed. If I give some one my password to help me out. I would appreciate it so much. The site is http://www.502ndfamily.com and my e-mail address is EagleBC72****.com please let me know.
Please help me password protect my site!

Re: Please help me password protect my site!
1) Question was how do I password protect my whole website. (Needs to be private.)
My reply from bluevada said to make a index entry page with a link to home page. I did that, But when I opened my web address it was a list of files from my file manager. So I read more of the forums to get a better detail of what to do. I did exactly what Trigger said in one of his. It did not work either. Made my home page come up but all my links said no page found. I think what the problems is, that I have gone in and added and removed so many times. That I have created a mess of my files in file manager.
What I have is a 17 pages total. - index.html, home.html, contact_us.html, frg.html, army_life.html, iraq_news.html, fthood_news.html, cal.html, classifieds.html, for_kids.html, time_weather.html, messages.html, photos.html, great_sites.html, chat.html, guestbook.html, and members.html
When the user types www.502ndFamily.com, I want my index page to come up with the username and password form. When they entry it. the index paged is linked to the home page.
I apologize for my ignorance, but I need a detail of what to do. Thank you so much.

Re: Please help me password protect my site!
Ok I have again watched the tutorials. I created a folder, named it pages. And moved all my pages in to it. I then password protected it. Now when I open the wesite. It still has my index page with link to home page. then when I click the buttons on home page, some of them work and other say page not found. That when i open using my AOL. If I open it using internet explorer. It come up with the index page and no password form. But link to home page disabled.

Re: Please help me password protect my site!
The pic of the huge flag is the link, for now. after I get this site password protected. I can make changes. But I am doing the site to help my wifes Military Unit. That is in Iraq. And Ft.Hood webmasters are giving me a hard time about getting it password protected ASAP. If you click the flad it goes to home page. On that Flag is where I want the password form to appear. Then take them to home page after they enter the password.

Re: Please help me password protect my site!
listen mate i just took a look at your server files and and they are in complete disarray.
This is what i strongly suggest.
1) I delete and reset your account from scratch. So that you have a fresh account
to work with.
2) You watch all the tutorials again. You learn how to name your pages and how to
create hyperlinks.
3) You name your home page index
4) In your NEW public_html you create a folder called "members"
5) You only password protect this folder
6) You put everthing in the members folder
-----------------------------------------------------------------
what do you think??? sounds cool?
