Copying different language text onto site

I have found a way to translate English into different languages to use on my site but when I try to copy and paste the text of another language onto my webpage question marks come up ?? two of them.

I click on text in BV to drop it onto the page then double click the text portion to highlight and paste the new language in its place. The new language appears briefly...and then is replaced by ??

What am I doing wrong?

ok...this is what you do.

Before you add the text to BV, insert it into notepad. This will strip out any hidden
html. While in notepad, make any correction that need to be made. Copy and paste
it from notepad to BV.
