How to change the Default website on my domain?

I bought a new domain name and there is a default search engine parked there. i have created my new site and tried to publish the first page as "index" and i can see it in my file manager but it is not publishing.

i bought the domain with vodahost but do i still need to change where the dns servers are pointing? if so can anybody please tell me exactly where and how i can do this?
