linking ftp files

Does any one knows the right way to link the files i put in my ftp manager?

if ftp://domainname.com/
or simply domainname.com/
or wwww.

I think i have done everithing fine till now but when previewing and clicking on the link to my ftp file i get an alert message

530-this is a private system-no anonymous login

i linked this way


mydomainname.com/public_html/zipfiles/thenameofthefile.rm

what i am missing?

the correct is

mydomainname.com/zipfiles/thenameofthefile.zip

without the public_html

Thanks i think i have already learnt to place my video files, i have read in other topics that we must not create folders in blue ftp, i mean a multimedia folder a pdf folder etc etc...and just to place the files in public_html, am i right or wrong?
