CSS Style sheets

Where can I get info on what the benefit of a CSS style design would be?

I've been up over a year, and I'm having trouble with my ranking (really competitive market). I'm thiinking of rebuilding with a CSS style sheet, as I've seen (& read in my web site reports/critiques) that a CSS style is preferred by the grand pubah of the internet, Google.

Thoughts?

I am not too familiar with CSS but watched a TV show with a CSS guru who has a website www.csszengarden.com Good luck.
