How can I Create a Downloadable gif file on my site?

    Thanks to all who reply

I would like visitors to my site to be able to download individual gif files from my site, how do I set this up?

I have seen threads on zip files but not individual gif files.

    Thanks Again,

    Tom

if i understand you correctly, you will be putting some gif images on your site and you want some of your customers to be able to download? if this is the case just put them on a page, save the page and publish. your visitors will just right click your image and save to their harddrive.
sometimes would be good to send us a link with your question so we can understand the goals you are trying to achieve

Thanks for your response. I have not published the site yet.

Is there a way to allow a vistor to click on an image and have the save option popup without right clicking?

      Thanks

        Sure,
Download the image to your public_html file. The link would then be www.yourdomain.com/filename.gif
or...download the gif to its own folder/directory that you create inside the public_html file . Then the link would be:
        www.yourdomain.com/foldername/filename.gif
It's important that your gif file have no spaces or symbols in the name and preferably no uppercase letters.

Thank you for your assistance. I am still having issues making the file directly download without having to rig***lick to save to a desktop.

          Here is an example: http://www.mobilesumo.com/boston-celtics-128.gif

          Again, thanks for the help

I don't think it's possible to auto-download to another computer without asking "permission".

I don't mind that permission must be given by the user.

I would like the permission popup to appear once the item has been selected on my site without the need to right click.

              Thanks,
              Tom
