Creating a download from mmy site

    Mornin',

I've created a new page for readers to download a copy of our magazine from the site, I've made a PDF zipped file and shoved it where I was told, but I've done something wrong somewhere obviously, 'cause I get "page not found error" when I hit the appropriate button.

(The "Download latest Edition" button is only on the home page at the moment)

Could someone have a try for me and see if it's just a delay or have I cocked up again?

    Thanks gang

I'm wondering if you meant to call it "bv.zip." Did you mean "bw.zip"? That doesn't work either, but maybe it's something like that...

No Cap'n, I meant to call it bv.zip - is this not correct?

Re: Creating a download from mmy site

Gotta be something else then. Your link (I'm sure you know) says http://baywatchspain.com/bv.zip. That looks correct on the surface, so it's something else, probably simple. Is that zip in your public folder or did you by chance put it in a subfolder, like baywatchspain.com/downloads/bv.zip?

It seems to be in the right place - it's inthe "public_ftp" folder................ or should it be in the "public_html" folder?

Re: Creating a download from my site

Well, I've tried that and the file's in place, but still no luck.

I can't even get it by putting the file's URL in the address bar.

                Any more suggestions please anyone.

                Thanks

Re: Creating a download from mmy site

                  This is impossible (almost)
Unless your bv.zip file permissions are not correct (should be 644) the problem can ONLY be a mistyping or the file is NOT uploaded.

Is this a main domain, or an addon ??

Re: Creating a download from mmy site

I've checked the permission - that's correct, and the file is there.

This is a main domain, by the way.

I can only think I'm not doing something correctly in the file manager

Sorted now - the file was there, but I hadn't named it correctly-doh!

                          Thanks for your help.

It's too easy to blame the system ain't it?

                          Cheers
