Website doesn't seem to be working

Hi, I'm very new to all of this so please bare with me.
I published a website on the 15th December and was told it could take up to 72 hours to work.
I went to have a look at it and this is what it says:

You need to save and publish your first page as
index

I did that as I watched the tutorial until I went cross eyed. Should I do it again and then try to republish it?

Thanks for your help David. I've now tried to republish the webpage but when I go to put in my username and password, it comes up with an Internet Exception Error 12014, saying my password is incorrect.
I'm using the password that was supplied to me by VodaHost.
Sorry if I'm being a pain but this all seems so complicated.

Hi Kaz - Can't help about your password but your initial problem might be because you named your page Index instead of index. Good luck
