Creating a link to download a file

I searched the forums to see if there was already a question about this but could not find anything. I am trying to have a link that you click on and it opens a file (.pdf or something like that). I would post the domain but I haven't bought it yet. Basically it is a website for a restaurant and the link will be to a menu. How do I do this?

    Thanks!
    Steve

Re: Creating a link to download a file

    Here's a link

It works like this: Create your pdf file. Using FTP Manager (Tools>FTP Manager) you upload your pdf file to the server. If you put in in your public_http folder, for example, you would then create a link on your page that looks like this: http://www.yoursite.com/yourpdffile.pdf

PS: I strongly recommend to one and all--learn how to search the forum. Just experiement with various words and terms until you see how things work. There are HUNDREDS of posts about pdf files. Searching the forum is much better than waiting for a response.
