redirecting in html

i was reading an old post about adding a txt line in the html set up on a page for a redirect......my question is, the post emplied to ad the txt not at the start of the page but between head tag...why there?

Not only did it imply, it stated that it should go in the
"between head" tag in the page html box.

Dont sweat it, just do it.........it works fine that way...............lol
