How do I make a password protected page?

I am working with a client that needs a secure page for their clients to visit within their site where a download link will be to a file-please help! www.primeenergync.com I want to place it on the home page as I am building the site now.

You create a folder in cpanel & password protect this. Then any pages or files you want protected, your publish to this folder. Link to help

I don't mean to sound stupid, but after I have made the folder-what is the link I need to put up? I made the folder "login" and password protected it, how do I get to the page to login? I also published a page named client in that folder-I would like for users to log in to view that page. Thanks Paul
