Hi, you can use a .com.au domain name. But it will be from a different domain name provider. Once you have your welcome email from VH with your server details you will be able to point your .com.au domain at the VH servers from where you purchased your domain.
The welcome email will also have the details for longing into your sites c panel & enabling uploads. If your using BV? the publishing.
      Regards Chris.

It has the directions if MelbourneIT has it registed but mine is with Smartyhost.
Maybe I am just stupid but I don't get how to do this.

              Hi,

You will first have to buy a Hosting account with VodaHost.

After the purchase VodaHost will allocate you with an ISP address plus Voda servers for you to point and store your webpages.

You will then have your own "cPanel" where you can login and do whatever is necessary to point your ".com.au" url address to the Voda servers and to mantain your website.

Blue Voda is only a website builder and nothing more. It is free for you to use.

You will need to change the name servers with your domain registrar, you will need to get instructions from that registrar as to how you will log into your domain account there to change and point this domain to your voda host servers, every domain registrar is different and you may have your own access to manage your domain or may need to submit a support ticket to that domain registrar to have that change made for you, those voda host servers will be found in your welcoming email once you purchase your voda hosting account.

Please note, you are not going to be transferring your domain to voda host, you will only be pointing the domain to your voda host servers .. your domain will reside with that registrar and your renewal for that domain will stay with them as well .. only your hosting will come from voda host...
