    publish page settings, computer crash!

    I would appreciate any help,

My computer crashed, had to reinstall bv. I retreived my homepage (from web site) made some changes & I want to publish. My settings are fine but I am not sure of the folder and file settings.

    1. in folder - public_html ??.

    2. what folder I use for the home page and do I use publish HTML files only?

    3. also, when I am ready to add a page, would I use the very same settings? If not what would change.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi auralight,

For the index page it is always "public_html/"
Name your page "index" only nothing else.

          1. The folder should be public_html

          1. Publish all files.

These two things will create a complete index page that would be the first page to open when anyone goes to your website. To publish additional pages, also publish them to public_html but give them different names. The names must be lowercase and no spaces. For example, about is a good name for an About Us page.

Great explanations Thanks you guy's !

            Just a couple more things,
I am getting an error message (in publish) that my password is incorrect.
which password would that be, I thought it was from cPanel.

also, I saw somewhere a site for newbie's., anyone know where that may be, I lost it with the crash of 09!
