Can anyone help with SFTP and FTPS

Hi

I have been advised on Avast forum to switch to either of the following below to make myself safer ?? Just about mastered ( sort of) FTP, does this work the same or is this not for a novice??
Any info or pointers muchly appreciated, so we can this into place :)

if you can switch from FTP to either SFTP or FTPS to minimize the chance of log-in credentials being "sniffed."

Well.. thats just an ssl login basically.. but with blue voda.. that wont work.. what is it that you are uploading causing the problem? Its not so much that its SNIFFED, unless your ftp client is TAINTED. The ony way for it be tainted is that you have a virus on your computer..

Best way not to have one is to SCAN downloads before you open them. Dont open emails you dont know who sent them, keep your computer and virus, firewall all up to date.. scan daily.

In order to quit UPPING the virus is to FIND IT ON YOUR COMPUTER.
