    WebDAV - zotero

    Hi all,

I'm using zotero.org as my bibliographic manager, One of its major features is file syncing via a webdav server (so that we can access all of our boks and articles in any computer).

Does Vodahost support the webdav protocol? Or can one setup an apache webdav service? I'm quite a newbie on these protocols, so would appreciate some input.

    Regards

If you mean will you be allowed to use your vodahost account as a streaming server.. NO

You will need to rent your own server to do this.
    Wont happen on shared hosting.

      Hi Karen Mac,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Streaming is not really the point. Its's just a question of using a little part of my vodahost disk quota for some file storage via webdav, that's all. Once in a while one could have to download a file.

Anyway, as I understand that webdav is a set of commands of the HTTP protocol, I thought it would be possible on shared hosting. It seems that I'm wrong.

      regards

Thats NOT permitted either. See terms of service.

You must agree to our web hosting terms of service before you become a member.

          Re: WebDAV - zotero

Excuse me? I cannot have a few MB of my own private files, under a private, password protected folder? So what's the difference between that and a website with restricted access area, with files stored, like e.g. product catalogs?? After all, it seems encouraging for customers that policy of yours. I'll reconsider my vodahost renewal next year.

It depends on HOW Much of the repository you are using.. as i said READ the terms of service.. and the PURPOSE you are STORING those files for.

And most likely they will NOT install that addon. put in a support ticket and get it CLARIFIED.
