Menu on the left or right of website for better optimization?

Whats better for the search engines.. the menu down the left side or the right side? Is there a difference?

    Thanks

Maybe a general can shed some light on it.

But in a language like English, writing and reading left to right, traditionally
you see the menu on the left. Users are used to it. And that's
the first and foremost a website developer should care for.

If the menu is a text menu, the search engines would "read" it. The
"image" menu is hard to "read and understand" by the robots even though
humans might prefer the "image" buttons.

Other languages where reading and writing is done from right to left,
it would make sense for the web developer to have the menu on the right.

So in this regard, if you took care of the humans,
the search robots would follow through.
