    Domain addon installation

I looked through other possible threads and hope I've ended up at the right place. If not send this Newbie in the right direction.

I have a website on Voda doing OK (so far) "abcdef.com"
I want to add a blog website so I register a domain name to my account as "abcdef-blog.com"

I go to the cPanel and used the addon domain function and install the new domain to home/abc/public_html and the new domain shows up in the public folder with a cgi-bin.

I then have Wordpress installed in "abcdef-blog.com in the directory "index".

It is there but when I try to access it by "abcdef-blog.com" or "abcdef-blog.com/wp-admin", all I get is "website does not exsist".

I have tried other combination with no success.

Do I need to wait 24/72 hours to get it up or have I done something wrong.

    Thank you.

Could be the 24/72 hour? But it would be a lot easier if we had your 2 domain names.
    Regards Chris.

      Re: Domain addon installation

      Thank Chris,
A little bashful about my site because so little there. Still in the learning curve. My goal is to have it figured out and put together for an April 1st offical send off. I did the Wordpress on my site under sitename.com/blog and I did a forum on my site under sitename.com/forum. Now I've decided that I had rather have the blog and forum have their own domain name. Either way I'm in the learning mode at the moment, content will come along soon ...hopefully.

      assemblyofsavedsinners.com
      assemblyofsavedsinners.com/blog
      assemblyofsavedsinners.com/forum

      Addon Domain=
      assemblyofsavedsinners-blog.com
      assemblyofsavedsinners-forum.com

The reason I decided to go this way with the addons is that I want to use Preformance Metrics to be able to evaluate the main site and the blog site and the forum site as individual sites and not all as a part of one.

      Thanks
      Have a Blessed Day.

It looks like it needs a few more hours to propagate. Will check back in a wile.

          Re: Domain addon installation

Wanted to let you know that I have installed Wordpress to assemblyofsavedsinners-blog.com, BUT the only thing I have done with assemblyofsavedsinners-forum.com is install it as an addon as I did the "-blog.com", but it is just sitting there without the SMF forum installed yet. Thought I had better get the "-blog.com" working before I went on to the "-forum.com".

            Re: Domain addon installation

Would of thought it would be through by now. I noticed that there is a locked notice on this domain at whois. It might be worth a support ticket on this one after another 24 hours.
